Ten days ago, Celtic managed to end the losing run of four games against their biggest rivals. A 2:1 win brought them back in the title race, although green-white have three games more than Rangers. This week they will against cross swords at Celtic Park and if they wish to keep their chance for the trophy they must win. Unlike the last duel Celtic will be without Nakamura who got injured on training and Caldwell completed his suspension so he will take his place in defense in front of keeper Boruc.
Injuries decimated Rangers
Decimated by injuries and suspensions Rangers drew goalless the first UEFA Cup semifinal leg against Fiorentina. This was a very favourable result for the Blues and now they are about to play in equally important play-offs match against Celtic. There are against many injured players – McGregor, Adam, McCulloch, Beasley, Burke and Naismith are injured and manager Smith won’t be able to count on Cuellar and Thomson because they are suspended. Captain Ferguson is back in the team; he missed the match against Fiorentina so he is rested for this one.
Betting verdict
If Celtic managed to win Rangers’ strongest line-up ten days ago, green-white will clearly try to use the injuries and suspensions of the Blues. Odds for home win are 2.10 which is a tempting bet.
