Ghana need to reshuffle their defence to cope with the absence of suspended captain Mensah for their African Cup of Nations semi-final against Cameroon. The defender misses the match in Accra after receiving a red card in Nigeria game . Essien might be used in defence to replace Mensah .
Cameroon have no new injury worries for this game but they might be a little tired after 120 minutes played against Tunisia . Camerun conceded goals almost in every game this year and I don’t see something changed for this game . They have defensive trouble and Ghana has good strikers to take advantage .
Ghana plays home and should be an advantage for them . They have won in every game till now and proved they have good attack . I won’t risk predicting outcome of this game , instead I will bet on goals . IF Essien will take his place in defensive line I see a closed game . He was useful playing in attack and his presence will be felt . I expect Ghana’s defence to improve , while Cameroon to be more cautios . Afterall , they saw what happened against Tunisia and I don’t think they are prepared to do this again .
Cameroon indeed scored many goals in group matches but notice the teams they played : Sudan ( 0-9 goals ) , Zambia ( 5-6 ) , Egypt ( 8-3 ) .
The two teams have met just twice before in the African Nations Cup, in 1982 and 2000, with both games ending in a draw.
